SETTING - 

TIME PERIOD: 16th Nov 2027
The time period is set in the future, which we usually expect the settings to look more high tech and more developed. However, in this opening, it seems like the world didn't really develop or it might have gone worse.

LOCATION: London 

It's set in London, a city that is well known for its bright brick red color and also a well-developed country. However, the color theme in the scene is dull gray colors, which gives a feeling of liveliness. 

There is rickshaw appearing, which suggested there is a large Asian influence happening which can be caused by having a large amount of Asian immigrant.

There are lots of police walking around, which shows that the city might be having a lot of crimes and that it is disorganized.

We can see that there are lots of dust which show the city's hygiene issue isn't being taken into account. The clothing people are wearing are all dull colors merging with the background, there isn't much variation of style or fashion. Which gives an idea that people aren't having high income and having a low quality of living. 

MAIN CHARACTER:

As he ignores the news and just concentrated on buying his coffee. Which shows that he's just minding his own business, didn't give much attention to the world. This suggested that he can be emotionless or careless.

Also, he is wearing a dark shabby coat with stubble on his face, which shows that he didn't put much time into self-care or didn't put much effort into representing himself.

Later on, he then mixes his morning coffee with alcohol, suggesting that he might be dealing with stress. In addition, it shows that he might be alcoholic.

NEWS
Before the opening, the news is talking about illegal immigrants and the area is surrounded by the army. Likewise, Seattle is siege which is strange as Seattle is a country known for a peaceful place.

The news appears on the TV in the coffee shop is about the death of the youngest child in the world. Who is born in 2009, this suggested that after 2009 there is no newborn baby, in another word the population stop growing since 2009. This then creates the question "why isn't there baby born?".

SOUND

In the clip it includes lots of diegetic sounds and is mostly the sound of natural environment, such as the sound of car engine.
